VENICE’S HOTEL ERWIN LAUNCHES
RED BULL DOGTOWN SUITE
The hipster Venice Beach refuge Hotel Erwin recently unveiled its plush Red Bull Dogtown suite with a live art show featuring L.A. artist James Haunt, who not only curated the show but also designed the suite.
The newly redesigned impressive suite, sporting an awesome view of Venice Beach, pays homage to Los Angeles based art and culture – set among the busy streets of Venice.
“I try to express the beauty of what is a California day,” says artist James Haunt.
In Haunt’s cool depiction of “California lifestyle” is the odd UFOs thrown in here and there. And considering the interesting folks that make up the Venice Beach community, a UFO sighting doesn’t seem like the most outrageous thing imaginable.
Ironically, Haunt confesses that his downtown L.A. bedroom is not as colorful as his Red Bull Dogtown designed suite. “I like white, plain walls; extremely minimalistic,” the artist notes.
But don’t expect that ‘less is more’ mentality at the Erwin. The awesome suite can be rented out for a starting price of $1,500 but you can rest assured you’ll have the most desired pad in Venice Beach. This is not the kind of room where you drop off your bags and head out for a night on the town, oh no, you will be making an entire day of it hanging out in your killer suite.
“I hope people take away a little bit of the beauty and simplicity of what is Los Angeles and California,” Haunt explains. “I think this is something that everyone can appreciate. I feel if people can come in and just appreciate the simple beauty of the imagery, then that’s enough of me.”
This is what summer at the beach is all about.
The Hotel Erwin is located at 1967 Pacific Ave in Venice.
