ALT-MILK VEGAN ICE CREAM BY JERMAINE DUPRI
Producing, penning and crafting hit songs is business as usual for artist Jermaine Dupri—owner of 16 #1 hits on the Billboard charts. But now the hitmaker is hitting it big with his ample array for vegan ice creams.
Dupri’s JD’s Vegan offers dairy-free all-natural flavors that really hit the spot. We’re talking flavors that deliver those sweet feelings better than any love song.
“You don’t lose anything going vegan,” Dupri says. “You gain nothing but quality food with out-of-this-world, top of the top super taste.”
Currently available exclusively at Walmart and Walmart.com, fab flavors include Key Lime Pie; Strawberry Sweetheart (a nod to Mariah Carey’s “Sweetheart”; Welcome to Atlanta, Peach Cobbler (in honor of the 2002 club banger with Ludacris); Apple Butter; Chocolate My Way (after Usher’s “My Way”); and (404) Cookies & Cream.
Completely vegan, the formulation of each unique flavor follows a strict guideline of producing mind-bending, head-spinning, deceptively delicious taste. No animal milk or creamers, no artificial flavors or sweetners are used to bind and churn this vegan ice cream. JD’s Vegan offers a lineup of dairy-free, all-natural frozen desserts that are so good, you won’t believe what’s not in them. A four-pack of JD’s Vegan Ice Cream retails for under $30 (for four pints) and everything is shipped frozen and directly to your door.
For almost two decades, Jermaine Dupri has followed a vegan lifestyle. According to Dupri, he is now shaping our collective culinary consciousness, creating good-tasting food, and helping to diminish misguided fears towards a plant-based life.
Don’t fret that these ice creams are lacking flavor or creaminess. Dupri worked with international dessert expert and the godfather of ice cream Malcolm Stogo to make an all-star alt-milk vegan ice cream. JD’s Vegan delivers a lineup that harmonizes rich plant-based ingredients that create layers and mounds and swirls of all good flavor inside.
The Strawberry Sweetheart, Welcome to Atlanta, Peach Cobbler, and the Chocolate My Way are winners. But it’s the Apple Butter that surprised me and became a favorite. I was unfamiliar with apple butter, which is a southern staple and similar to apple sauce. As an ice cream, it’s so damn tasty.
“I’ve never seen apple butter ice cream before,” Dupri admits. “I don’t know if it exists but it will. If we see more apple butter ice cream, it means they got it from me.”
