SABOR LATINO UNIFYING BORDERS
The 24th San Diego Latino Film Festival taking place march 16-26 has a history of innovative events bringing both sides of the border together in a celebration of art. All mediums get represented during the run of the festival food being a recent addition.
In its second year as part of the San Diego Latino film festival Sabor Latino is an experience unique and unifying. It is unique because Sabor Latino brings together some of the best cuisine from both sides of the California southern border.
I can’t think of a better way to unify people than an unbridled day of artisan dining. Some of the best dining south of San Diego’s border is highlighted by the presence of such chefs as Omar Armas of Mantou Pub and Sabina Bandera of La Guerrerense. North of the border is represented by chef Israel Ortiz of Harrah’s resort Southern California, also chef Stevan Novoa and others.
Admission includes unlimited bites created by the chefs as well as unlimited beer and wine tastings provided by over 20 of the best craft breweries and wineries from San Diego and Baja California! Live music and art showcases also are part of the event. Featured Wineries: Lomita Vinicola Mexicana,
Monte Xanic, Guadalupe, Torres, Villa Montefiori, Bodegas Henri Lurton, Casa Magoni, Bodegas Peña-Fiel, Bodegas Puente de Rus, Fiel-Puente de Rus Vinicola Las Estrellas.
All proceeds benefit the Media Art Center San Diego’s youth education and outreach programs.
